The Crossing Home

The Crossing Home- made possible by Parkbench, Inc.- serves women who are seeking to turn their lives around, breaking the cycle of poverty, and becoming productive members of our community. It provides them a place to reside and obtain the support needed to get themselves back on their feet and functioning in the community.

“I was worried I was pregnant. I didn’t know how to take care of a baby. In conversations with my counselor, I realized I was coerced by my adult boyfriend. My parents were unaware of this whole situation. I decided to come to The Crossing. With my counselor, I talked about sexual purity, freedom and ownership of my body.  It turned out I wasn’t pregnant. My counselor helped me talk to my parents and alert authorities about my situation.  I’m now on a path to recovery and beginning a new life.”
